Lawrence Gilliard Jr. is best known for his work on the critically acclaimed series The Wire, on which he played D’Angelo Barksdale. He also appeared as Bob Stookey on fan-favorite The Walking Dead. Lawrence studied classical music at Baltimore School for the Arts but decided to pursue acting instead. He made his film debut as the lead in the independent film Straight Out of Brooklyn. Lawrence studied acting at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, The Acting Studio-New York and the Stella Adler Conservatory.
