Liz Rocha-Seelig

Liz Rocha-Seelig (full name: Laura Maria Elizabeth Vasquez Rocha-Seelig) recently completed her third year as a PhD student in Language and Literacy Studies at The University of Texas at Austin. For the past four years, she has worked as a secondary English instructional coach and curriculum writer in a Central Texas school district, where she supports the inclusion of diverse texts across multiple formats, including graphic novels and audio texts, as well as a wide range of Latine stories in the curriculum and classrooms. Prior to this role, she taught English language arts and reading for 10 years. Her research interests include culturally sustaining pedagogy, body-inclusive literature, critical literacies, and teacher education. She may be contacted at lzseelig@utexas.edu
