The 501st Legion is a world-wide all volunteer Star Wars costuming group with more than 13,000 members around the globe of which, over 500 are members are within Star Garrison alone. Their mission is to share the love of Star Wars, encourage the love of costuming, and to contribute to their local, national, and international communities through charity work and volunteerism. Battlefield Houston brings the newest style of laser tag. With laser tag guns modeled after the latest Sci-Fi movies and video games, you can engage in battle with your fellow Sci-Fi fans. In team matches, players are engaged in missions like Deathmatch and Domination. Providing tactical style laser tag to the Greater Houston area since 2008, Battlefield Houston knows how to bring fun games to any location.
The Comicpalooza Podcast Program is going strong in its sixth year at Comicpalooza with more than 50 different podcasts getting their geek on. The podcast program hosts panels throughout the weekend including educational panels, game shows, live podcasts and special panels. Learn more here.
Ever wanted to drive a giant robot armed to the teeth with lasers, cannons, and missiles to own the battlefield? Then be sure to check out the MechCorps attraction! In the simulators, you can battle multiple other pilots in 3-story tall, 75-ton walking tanks in a virtual world of futuristic war. Fight one-on-one, everyone for themselves or teams; with or without computer AI opponents. They will train and prepare you for the most fun you’ve had beating up your friends ... without leaving bruises! After each battle, you can talk smack while you watch a review of your game and get a SCORE SHEET to prove your superiority!
SABER GUILD is the largest not-for-profit, recognized Star Wars lightsaber performance group in the world and LFL's preferred costumed lightsaber performance club. Mustafar Temple is the Houston based branch with members throughout the greater Houston area. They enhance event experiences through the use of costumed lightsaber choreography to conduct Interactive Jedi Experiences, full stage performances, and photo opportunities at charity and local community events, as well as pop culture conventions. They raise awareness and donations for charities and Make-A-Wish has been a partner of theirs for many years. SABER GUILD'S mission is to raise and support charities throughout Texas through their love of Star Wars. Straight from the jungles of Isla Nublar, this Jurassic Park Jeep Wrangler is custom built by local Houstonian @JurassicVic to bring the Jurassic Experience to Comicpalooza. JP12 was the jeep Dennis Nedry used to try and escape the islands with the stolen dinosaur DNA hidden in a Barbasol can. Come relieve the adventure at this Jurassic Park experience! Keep your windows up and hold on to your butts!
Tim the Dalek and Friends
Are you a Whovian?? Well get excited to be EXTERMINATED at Comicpalooza 2020! Tim the Dalek and Friends will be invading to exterminate you and your friends! Take photos inside the Doctors TARDIS, be forced to OBEY Tim Dalek and Tom Dalek as they roam the con floor for a selfie! So come “Allonsy” and don’t miss this “fantastic” prop collection including Davros and the moment!
Cushing Memorial Library & Archives is the special collections and rare books library at Texas A&M University. It houses materials from over 4,000 years of history, and among its treasures is the Science Fiction & Fantasy Research Collection, one of the largest of its kind in the world. They will bring scanned examples from their collection to share, including: examples of manuscripts from acclaimed authors George R.R. Martin, Martha Wells and others, maps from their massive Maps of Imaginary Places Collection, and pulp magazines from the beginnings of 20th-century science fiction.
John Marks has been a professional artist for over 25 years, specializing in special effects, costume design, and sculpting. In the last five years, John has turned his attention to building larger than life props. Most notably, he has built popular characters such as the Hulk, The Iron Giant and the dragons, Toothless and Light Fury. He continues to try and bring his imagination to life for the young and young at heart with his newest props based on the cult classic He-Man the Masters of the Universe.
The large cats, “Battlecat” and “Panthor” based on the long running TV show/toy line, He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, are highly realistic, full-scale, and "rideable". These creatures, along with an assortment of props, are available for photo ops in a fully immerse experience to delight everyone. All are welcome to take pictures, and every cat "rider" will receive a special commemorative rider coin or sticker (while supplies last). Partial proceeds goes go to Make-A-Wish foundation.

The Lunar and Planetary Institute (LPI) is a research institute operated on behalf of NASA. LPI supports the planetary research community and NASA’s efforts to explore the solar system, and engages the public in Earth and planetary science. This year at Comicpalooza, LPI scientists and education specialists will share ongoing planetary discoveries by taking attendees on a virtual journey through the solar system, using a digital planetarium. Come fly across volcanic plains, through rings, and above moons in live virtual tours of the worlds in our solar system.
