Comicpalooza Fight Club

Back again in collaboration with Turnip Café and Kaboom! Comics, Fight Club returned for another round of action-packed excitement. Fans competed in Rivals of Aether 2, Smash Ultimate, and FC 26 in the biggest venue in Houston, TX and were among national and globally ranked players. Tournaments took place on both Saturday and Sunday with 50+ setups across all games, fair payouts, diverse pot bonuses, and incentives. Pre-event registration was encouraged, but onsite registration was available if it did not alter seeding, as seeding for top players was finalized two days prior to the event.

Free Play

Fans could stop by Fight Club Free Play to unwind, connect, and jump into casual gaming across 50+ setups. It was the perfect place to take a breather, meet fellow fans, and enjoy a gaming moment, thanks to our friends at Turnip Café.

Retro Gaming at Comicpalooza Fight Club

Fight Club at Comicpalooza leveled up with free-play retro games all weekend! Between Smash Bros. and Rivals of Aether 2 tournaments, fans jumped in and played Mario Kart 64 (x2), Super Smash Bros. (x2), Super Smash Bros. Melee (x2), and Mario Kart: Double Dash!! (x2). Whether practicing, chilling, or racing friends, it was all free and all fun.

Okashi - Japanese Arcade

Fans levelled up the Comicpalooza experience with Okashi Houston, bringing the electric atmosphere of authentic Japanese arcade gaming to Texas’ largest pop culture festival. Based in Pearland, Okashi Houston operated an 1,800-square-foot gaming haven with more than 40 authentic Japanese arcade machines, and brought that excitement to Comicpalooza. Fans stepped into an immersive arcade experience featuring fan-favorite rhythm games like Project Diva Future Tone and Love Live, plus racing hits such as Mario Kart and Initial D. Whether longtime arcade fans or brand new to the scene, the hand-picked machines captured the energy of Tokyo’s vibrant gaming centers.

FC26 Tournament

Comicpalooza brought the hype to Fight Club that year with an FC 26 showdown featuring a $250 pot bonus! Competitors tested their skills, battled through the bracket, and fought for cash, bragging rights, and tournament glory at one of Houston’s biggest pop culture events. Whether entering to win or just coming to watch the action, attendees experienced high-energy matches, strong competition, and nonstop community vibes all weekend long.
