David F. Walker is a comic book writer, filmmaker, and educator. He has worked for Marvel, DC, Dark Horse, Boom, Dynamite, and Image. He teaches at Portland State University. And from the Blackest of fantasies to the Blackest of histories, David F. Walker has explored the African American experience through documentaries, critical commentary, fiction, and non-fiction. His works include the newly released Black Film: A History of Black Representation and Participation in the Movies, the Eisner Award-winning writer of The Black Panther Party: A Graphic Novel History, co-creator of the Eisner Award-winning series Bitter Root, writer of Big Jim and the White Boy, author of the critically acclaimed YA novel, The Second Chance of Darius Logan, and he produced, wrote and directed the documentary Macked, Hammered, Slaughtered, and Shafted: A History of Blaxploitation.
