We kicked off Comicpalooza weekend in style with our inaugural Launch Night featuring the CP Friday Night Bash: A Pop Culture Spectacle, Texas All-Star Wrestling, Ultimate Werewolf, retro gaming, and loads of fun!
Friday Night Bash
Taking over the George Bush Ballroom of the George R. Brown Convention Center, fans stepped into CP Friday Night Bash through a futuristic vortex that guided spectators to a neon oasis adorned with themed nostalgic décor, a retro arcade, and other enchanting surprises. LED screens illuminated the dance floor while a video DJ amped the crowd with tunes beloved and known by many.
Friday Night Wrestling
Meanwhile on the General Assembly spectators cheered on for their favorite wrestlers from Texas All-Star Wrestling in eight intense matches including “GEN Z” Zane Valero, Socorro, Jesse Logan, “The Canadian Dragon” Shimbashi, BD Brawley, “The Stone That Does Not Crumble” Edge Stone, Parviz, Tama Ku, Raché Chanel, Mia Friday, MJ Santana, “Star Warrior” Estrella Galactica, “Mr. 5K” Nathan Bradley, “The Buzzard” Tommy Bolton, and “The Bionic Silverback” Nate Slater.
The entertainment didn’t stop there! Retro World Series hosted a series of energetic Mario Kart 64 tournaments on Nintendo 64 consoles.
Fans of tabletop gaming enjoyed the largest social deduction game of its kind - Ultimate Werewolf. You could join Ultimate Werewolf Houston for a game filled with murder, accusation, and all the lying your demented mind can muster.
You could get the party started at the Hilton Americas Houston Lobby Bar for a Star Wars themed happy hour on Friday and Saturday from 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM. You could enjoy drinks like the Obi-Wan, The Inquisitor, and Drink Me You Will. On tap you could also find our exclusive Comicpalooza beer, The Maltiverse of Nonsense, created by our friends over at Eureka Heights.
