Collectible card games, role-playing games, miniature war games, and a variety of Steve Jackson games will be part of Comicpalooza’s tabletop competitions this year.
Magic the Gathering
Magic the Gathering is a battle between wizards, known as planeswalkers, who employ spells, artifacts, and creatures in order to defeat their opponents. Although the original concept of the game drew heavily from the motifs of traditional fantasy role-playing games such as Dungeons & Dragons, Magic has substantially more cards and more complex rules than many other card games. Prizes for Magic the Gathering at Comicpalooza will be provided by Ettin Games.
Dungeons and Dragons: Adventure League
A fantasy tabletop role-playing game (RPG) originally designed by Gary Gygax and Dave Arneson, and first published in 1974 by Tactical Studies Rules, Inc. (TSR).
Pathfinder Society Campaigns
The Pathfinder Society is a globe-spanning organization based out of Absalom, the world's largest city. The membership consists primarily of Pathfinders, adventurers who travel throughout Golarion, usually inconspicuously, and explore, delve, and otherwise experience the lesser-seen parts of the world.
Shadowrun is a science fantasy tabletop role-playing game set in a near-future fictional universe in which cybernetics, magic and fantasy creatures co-exist. It combines genres of cyberpunk, urban fantasy and crime, with occasional elements of conspiracy, horror and detective fiction.
Warhammer 40,000. Varies depending on the size of the game. Usually 1–3 hours. Warhammer 40,000 (informally known as Warhammer 40K, WH40K or simply 40K) is a tabletop miniature wargame produced by Games Workshop, set in a dystopian science fantasy universe.
