Kathleen McClancy is an Associate Professor and Director of Media Studies in the English Department at Texas State University. Her previous publications include “Fighting a Lonely War: Frank Castle and the Domestication of Vietnam” in The Punisher: Judge, Jury, and Executioner (McFarland) “Desperate Housewives: Murdering Gendered Nostalgia in Lady Killer” in Feminist Media Histories; and “Winter Soldiers and Sunshine Patriots: World War II and the Cold War in Captain America” in ImageTexT. She was the guest editor of a 2018 special issue of Feminist Media Histories focusing on comics and graphic narrative. She is the primary organizer of the Comics Arts Conference and a member of the advisory board of MEGASCOPE from Abrams Comics Arts. Her present research focuses on Cold War nostalgia in the era of the Global War on Terror.
