Dr. Kathleen Ratajcza

Dr. Kathleen Ratajczak is an Assistant Professor in the Victim Studies Department at Sam Houston State University. She received her PhD from the University of Kentucky in Sociology, and also has a master's degree in Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies from the University of Cincinnati. Dr. Ratajczak has authored several peer-reviewed publications on violence against women, including her recent publication in the journal Violence Against Women on how masculinity theory has impacted the field of violence against women. Her research focuses on sexual and gender-based violence, help-seeking behaviors after experiences of victimization, feminist theory and feminist jurisprudence, and Title IX policy. Dr. Ratajczak was the recipient of the 2019 Larry J. Siegel Graduate Fellowship for the Study of Gender and Crime from the American Society of Criminology's Division on Women and Crime.
