Samantha Ceballos

Samantha Ceballos is a PhD candidate in English Literature at The University of Texas at Austin. Her research focuses on Latinx/Chicanx literature, popular culture, and poetry. Her Dissertation focuses on discussing superhero genre conventions and what it means to be a Latina Super-hero in 21st century media. She works as the Graduate Assistant to the Latinx Pop Lab, where she helps organize events such as the BIPOC PoP Symposium and the Latinx Critical Creative Consortium. She is the Social Media Specialist, and former Member-at-Large, for the Graduate Student Caucus of the Comic Studies Society. In her spare time, she writes for the Latinx Pop Magazine. Samantha received an MA in English Literature from UT-Austin, an MA in Literature, Creative Writing, and Social Justice at Our Lady of the Lake University and her BA in English at The University of Texas at San Antonio. Her scholarly work has appeared in The Routledge Handbook of Latinx Life Writing and El Mundo Zurdo 8.
